Our team of experienced child care lawyers deals with all aspects of child protection, adoption and fostering. We work closely with Children’s Services and neighbouring authorities.
We advise and conduct litigation in all areas of Children’s social care law. Our specialist lawyers, including Children’s Panel members, have experience of private and public law work and regularly appear in the family courts.
We offer advice and assistance under the Children Act 1989 and the Adoption and Children Act 2002, including in respect of threatened and actual judicial review applications. We deal with applications for care, supervision, emergency protection, recovery, secure accommodation, child assessment and placement orders. We can also advise on response to applications for special guardianship, adoption, contact with a child in care and discharge of care orders applications.
We offer advocacy at all levels of family court proceedings, and can advise on eligibility issues, schooling issues and publicity matters such as obtaining or lifting reporting restrictions orders and contempt of court. We also regularly advise safeguarding boards and sub-panels, adoption and permanency panels, serious case reviews and learning lessons reviews.
We also offer training to social workers and others, which can be tailored according to a client’s specific needs.
